 The Pastor's Pen

How blessed we are to have been born in America; the greatest nation in the world.  We have many problems in our nation today, but America is still the greatest nation on earth.  How proud we should be that God, in His wisdom and mercy, allowed us to be born here.  Now, let us as Christians and Americans honor the God of our forefathers and love our nation and support her during these difficult times.  God Bless America!
Next month, we will be celebrating the 125th Anniversary of Beulah Baptist Church.  Beulah has a rich history and has been blessed by God in so many ways.  Down through the years, many faithful saints of God have come through the doors of this church and into a family of God here at Beulah.  As we celebrate, let us love each other in the spirit and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Let us pray for our leaders and for the church family we belong to.
There will be many wonderful happenings during the month of August.  The first Sunday, Rev. Chris Sullivan will be preaching in the Morning Worship Service.  Chris was just a young teen when I came to Beulah.  On the second Sunday, Rev. John Baughn will be preaching for us.  Brother John is a former deacon and member of Beulah.  On August 17, we will have a church-wide celebration.  After our morning service, we will have an old fashioned dinner.  I want everyone to bring a well-filled basket of food.  You know, that good ole fried chicken, pot roast, fried cube steak, pork chops, and all the fixin's to go along with it.  After lunch we will have a concert.  (No evening service)  It's going to be a great day.  I look forward to the entire month of August.  There will be some surprises along the way as well.  Please plan to be a part of this celebration.  Don't miss a thing!
